Dear Vanetsi, according to our friend in this forum, they do celebrate Vardavar (or Vartivor as they call it) for 15 days each year in areas populated by turkish-speaking Hemsinli (descendants of islamized Armenians who no longer speak Armenian, except for certain words here and there, and whose dialect is different from common Turkish).

Hello Vanetsi,

The festival of Vartevar does not have a religious meaning in Hamshen anymore. I believe it is being celebrated in a few highland pastures (yayla) but not in the villages.

Maybe the Hamshentsis from the area who are in this forum will provide more specifics.
